Aloe Vera Oil

Description
Aloe vera oil is a very mild oil with a yellowish color. It is not extracted from aloe vera seeds, but directly from the leaves of the aloe vera plant in a process called maceration (extraction). By being processed together with sunflower oil, this product has a longer shelf life and can also be used when no fresh aloe vera plant is available.

Composition
Aloe vera leaves contain a spectrum of beneficial nutrients of various kinds. They provide vitamin C, vitamin A and E, choline, folic acid and B vitamins (B1, B2 and B6). The aloe vera plant is known for its ability to extract minerals from the soil. As a result, it is rich in most common minerals, but also provides numerous trace elements for the human body. These include, for example, iron, copper, magnesium, calcium, manganese, sodium and potassium. Aloe vera also contains anthraquinones, which have health-promoting effects in small amounts, as well as amino acids. Other components include lipid compounds (such as arachidonic acid, γ-linoleic acid and many phytosterols) and polysaccharides. Many nutrients from aloe vera gel are transferred into aloe vera oil.

Use in cosmetics
Aloe vera has healing and soothing properties. For irritated and inflamed skin, aloe reduces swelling and soothes the skin. It is recommended for use on damaged skin, helps prevent skin infections and promotes cell regeneration. All skin types can benefit from the use of aloe vera oil. Aloe vera oil supports skin regeneration. In medicine, aloe vera is used for its anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties. Its active ingredients are also used to treat herpes, acne and fungal infections. In natural medicine, the oil has been used to treat wounds and burns. It is versatile and is often used as an after-sun oil, body oil in face creams or for massage applications. Aloe vera macerate oil is suitable for all skin types, but especially for sensitive and irritated skin.
Origin
Unlike most other oils, our aloe vera oil is not extracted from aloe vera seeds, but is an extract of the aloe vera plant in sunflower oil. For its production, the cut aloe vera plant is bathed in sunflower oil until all cosmetically active substances have transferred into the oil. Such an oil extract is called a "macerate". The most important advantage of maceration is that it is a cold process, which preserves the active ingredients. Some herbal preparations require maceration, as it is a way to "cold" extract delicate or volatile herbal essences, thus preserving their effectiveness.

Country of origin
The countries of origin of our aloe vera plants are Romania, Hungary and Slovakia. The macerate is produced in Germany.

Milk Thistle Oil

Description
Milk thistle oil is a robust oil with a yellowish color.

Composition
The most important component of milk thistle oil is silymarin, a naturally occurring flavonoid that is abundant in milk thistle. Silymarin is an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compound, and according to the University of Maryland Medical Center, silymarin is not a single substance, but a combination of the flavonoids silibinin, silidianin, and silicristin. It reduces inflammation and acts as a powerful antioxidant. Milk thistle oil also contains 50-60% linoleic acid, 20-30% oleic acid, and 10% palmitic acid. The oil extracted from milk thistle seeds is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids. Milk thistle oil also contains a high proportion of polyphenols, which are likely responsible for its antioxidant effect. In addition, milk thistle contains various polyacetylene compounds and polyolefins, as well as alkaloids such as betaine.

Use in cosmetics
Cosmetic milk thistle oil is a natural care product suitable for all skin types, especially oily skin prone to acne, as well as mature and sun-damaged skin with discolorations. It is used to lighten melanin spots, prevent excessive skin dryness, and regulate sebum production. But it is its anti-inflammatory and regenerative effects that make this oil very special. In medicine, it is used to accelerate the healing of wounds, bedsores, ulcers, and burns, as well as to combat eczema, psoriasis, erythema, and acne.
Origin
Native milk thistle oil is an oil obtained by cold pressing the seeds of the milk thistle. Through the gentle process and subsequent filtration, the oil is obtained in its natural form and quality without mechanical impurities from solid components of the milk thistle. Cold pressing preserves all fat-soluble vitamins, especially vitamin E, and important unsaturated fatty acids, i.e. omega-6 fatty acids, in the milk thistle oil.

Country of origin
The country of origin of our milk thistle oil is Germany.

Chia Oil

Description
Chia oil is a yellow oil, originally produced in South America, and has been used since the time of the Aztec civilization. Because it is light and quickly absorbed, it is ideal for all skin types.

Composition
Chia oil contains essential fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6, as well as palmitic acid, stearic acid, and tocopherols. It contains about 70% alpha-linolenic acid, which is the highest known content of this fatty acid in an oil. Despite the high alpha-linolenic acid content, the ratio of omega-3 (alpha-linolenic acid) to omega-6 (linoleic acid) is balanced at 3:1. In addition, chia oil contains sterols, tocochromanols, phenolic compounds, carotenoids, and squalene.

Use in cosmetics
Applying chia oil to the skin not only moisturizes but also improves the skin's barrier function, making it less likely to lose moisture. The omega-3 fatty acids in chia oil help build collagen, the substance that keeps skin looking youthful and supple. Chia oil helps rebuild the epidermis, or outer layer of skin, making it feel smoother and more youthful. This helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and gives the skin a healthy glow. Regular use of chia oil can even reduce the risk of skin darkening such as sun damage and age spots. Thanks to its high content of antioxidants, known as tocopherols, chia oil reduces inflammation caused by free radicals, which can lead to premature signs of aging. Chia oil can help soothe acne, rosacea, or simply irritated skin. The omega-3 fatty acids reduce inflammation and can help with minor irritations and with dry or itchy skin. The antioxidants in this oil also protect the skin from external influences such as wind and sun. The many antioxidants contained in chia oil, as well as zinc and vitamin B3, give dry skin a wonderful glow. It has been proven in dermatological studies that chia oil can significantly reduce itching.
Origin
The ancient cold-pressing method is used to extract chia oil. This technique dates back millennia. It remains one of the most effective methods of oil extraction because the oil retains more of its bioactivity. Most other extraction methods expose the oil to heat and chemical solvents, which can impair its health-promoting properties. In cold-pressing oil extraction, the seeds are pressed to squeeze out the oil. The seeds are fed into a cylinder containing a rotating screw. This screw crushes and presses the seeds until the oil is extracted. Small holes in the bottom of the cylinder allow the oil to escape into a collection container. The cold-pressed extraction process ensures that no heat or light occurs, as temperatures are kept below 40°C.

Country of origin
The country of origin of our organic chia oil is Peru.

Application:

The application of IONIA AZURÉ Tattoo Care Oil differs depending on the tattoo's healing phase:

One week before the tattoo:
About a week before your tattoo appointment, start applying a thin layer of IONIA AZURÉ Tattoo Care Oil over a large area where the tattoo will be. The skin will be excellently nourished and plumped from within. Your tattoo artist will then find it easier to apply the tattoo perfectly to your smooth and well-cared-for skin. In addition, the skin is supplied with nourishing substances in advance, which is very important for the first few days after the tattoo. If the tattoo is in a hard-to-reach area (e.g., on the back), it is also important to start caring for it early, as this allows you to learn the care steps that will be necessary in the coming weeks.

First week after the tattoo:
During tattooing, no skin care is usually applied.
In the first three days after tattooing, it is also advisable not to use any care products, or to use them very sparingly, as the care components of care products could get to the ink particles through the open wounds, cause the ink to fade or bleed, and thus damage the tattoo. Often, the tattoo is covered with a special film for the first three days anyway. As soon as the film can be removed, it is very important to keep the countless small wounds caused by the needle open and not to clog them with care products. This allows, on the one hand, the unimpeded drainage of blood and plasma and, on the other hand, the adequate supply of wounds with oxygen. Both processes are very important for rapid wound healing. If you notice that your skin needs care even at this stage, use a very light wound ointment from the pharmacy.

From the fourth day, most of the wounds are closed, and the redness has peaked. Now it's time to continue applying IONIA AZURÉ Tattoo Care Oil. The skin now urgently needs support, and IONIA AZURÉ Tattoo Care Oil provides it with all the ingredients it needs for faster regeneration and ink assimilation. Apply a thin layer of IONIA AZURÉ Tattoo Care Oil to the skin surface at least twice a day, morning and evening. We recommend cleaning and drying the tattoo before care. The particularly effective ingredients in this phase come mainly from aloe vera oil and milk thistle oil, which are known for their regenerating and soothing effects. At the end of the first week, especially with large tattoos, wound scab forms; it is very important that you leave this wound scab completely alone during care. With IONIA AZURÉ Tattoo Care Oil, however, this is not a problem, as it spreads very easily on the skin.

Second week after the tattoo:
During the second week, IONIA AZURÉ Tattoo Care Oil proves to be a true helper and savior, as during this time the tattooed skin becomes extremely dry, very flaky, and often (sometimes unbearably) itchy. At the same time, scratching is strictly forbidden, as crusted skin and colors can be removed, and the tattoo would be damaged. IONIA AZURÉ Tattoo Care Oil provides quick moisture and care: the skin becomes softer, and the itching is relieved. The flakes and scabs become less hard and do not scratch clothing. Some small crusts even become soft enough to peel off easily and cleanly.

Do not hesitate to care for your skin several times a day with IONIA AZURÉ Tattoo Care Oil during the second week, every two hours if possible. You no longer need to wash the tattoo before each application.

Our tip: If you suffer from extreme itching, order our Mallow serum against redness and itching immediately (ordered Mon-Fri by 4:00 p.m., shipped the same day with A-Package). It will save you a lot of torment. Even better: Get a bottle of Swiss Malva Actives before getting tattooed: Your future self will thank you for it. Even if you don't need Swiss Malva Actives for tattoo care, it will certainly prove itself with the next mosquito bite!

Third and fourth week after the tattoo:

From the third week, the skin will recover quickly. The crusts will gradually peel off, and the skin will slowly return to its normal state. Itching is usually no longer an issue. However, continue using IONIA AZURÉ Tattoo Care Oil, but one to two applications per day are now sufficient.

From the fifth week after the tattoo. The skin is now superficially smooth, but the healing process is not yet complete. The deeper skin structures still need a long time to recover and arrange themselves with the pigment particles. It takes up to six months for the skin to be completely healed. These deeper processes are very important for optimal ink assimilation. The faster the skin regenerates in depth, the clearer and sharper the tattoo will ultimately appear. It is advisable to pamper the skin at least once a day with IONIA AZURÉ Tattoo Care Oil so that the healing processes in the deeper skin layers can also be successfully completed. It should be noted that the tattoo only appears in its full sharpness after about two months, namely when the thicker and less transparent skin layer that the body quickly produced after the wound occurred is replaced by a new skin layer.

While almost all tattoos follow this pattern, the timelines here are, of course, generalizations. Every skin is different and reacts differently. Small tattoos heal faster and form fewer scabs than larger ones. It is important to recognize the described healing stages and to care for the tattoo correctly.

And our final tip: Do you have some IONIA AZURÉ Tattoo Care Oil left after tattoo care? Use it to care for your skin after everyday scratches, minor burns, and bruises.

Please note:It is normal for the tattoo to be slightly red, lose fluid, and hurt slightly in the first few days. However, consult your doctor immediately if you suspect that these symptoms are excessive and the tattoo is inflamed! To avoid contamination, wash your hands thoroughly before each use of IONIA AZURÉ Tattoo Care Oil.
